Hi Spahr, This looks like a good start, my only comment is on the tree roots. Usually tree roots have a more complex shape than just a cylinder. Right now they kind of look like tentacles. Think you really overdid the veins. It's pretty rare to see veins on anything but the limbs. I'd remove them from the chest/neck/abs and smooth them out in general on the rest of the body.
