I haven't tried them out in a while but what about importing a Xref of a read only locked file? The last time I used Xrefs they where pretty buggy max8, but they've tried updating them several times since then. I think they call them containers now? -

I doubt you would do a resin based print for something as large as a plant pot, so I'm assuming normal FDM printing. PLA is non toxic (they make food containers out of it) but some dyes used in it may not be. So to be really safe you could print in natural PLA and then paint the outside whatever colour you would like. -

Anyone get the error when trying to import your weapon "Name contains an invalid character" ? I copy/pasted the exact example here, and edited it to suit my entry. No, I didn't even think about that. I'm still getting use to modifiers inside of Max. I didn't think to add a single modifier to all objects at one time. If I already have saved UVs for all my objects, I'm assuming I can just load them all into the UV unwrap modifier that contains the whole scene? -

I've been using the Nightshade Color Splitter linked above, for photoshop. It splits the colors into bitmap layers though, but I made an action that converts them to fill layers.
