Looking really nice, but the biggest thing I would change would be too add a loop or two into his helm so you dont see the obvious low poly look. It is near his face so adding more detail there is expected, and right now its too low poly.
The legs have too many joints in them. He's got two ankles on either leg. If you take the heel and move it up to where the superfluous joint in the middle of the leg is, you'll be on the way to a character that works better. It'd feel a bit more natural if you bent the knees a bit too.
Just playing devil's advocate here. So I'm not allowed to compare the two shows because they are set in a different setting, have different characters and was fought differently? Seriously? It's the same production company doing the show (HBO, Dreamworks), I bet a lot of the same crew are still on board. They hint at the…
Your CPU and GPU times are very low and your "saved by batches" is high which is good. Your shadowcasters number is quite high. That isn't an issue now but it may be if you add lights to the scene. By default, I turn all shadowcaster switches off for each object mesh renderer unless I know the shadow will be seen by the…
OH LOL. this is how it works. jesus i totaly forgot. this drove me up a wall the first time. when you have 2 objects and you want to merge them, xsi creates a 3rd object that is the merged one. it leaves the 2 objects as they are in case you want to go back. haha with it's history saving feature and this whole thing, it's…
Do your wall/ceiling meshes have backfaces.. as in.. is it a cube or just a plane? If what you are using is a plane and there's no backfaces you can try ticking "Shadow Two Sided" in the Details Panel. You might still get some light bleeding, but that's another issue entirely. If you want to play it safe make it a solid…
just a few small crits, but overall the scene looks nice - would be kool to go further add some personal items ontop of the boxes or something. The crits i'm suggesting are just to match the concept, you may have taken your own route :) The showers heights are slightly too low The text on the glass is slightly too small…
In two days the evolution is quite impressive. While you were on very detailed things, progression looked really slow (by "slow" I mean "quick as a lightning" compared to me ^^) but just the blocking of the armor already looks like a big step forward. It's sad that you can't make it before the end of the contest but I…
Thanks. There is more than just a directional light in the scene. There are two or three ambient lights. Orginally I was going to match the sky in the reference, but someone persuaded me to go for a moodier, darker more dramatic look. Its really only supposed to be seen from the top images camera angle. But as the rest was…
Have a girlfriend and been with her for more than two years. Still having fun together and she really likes what I am doing. She really likes designing, decorating stuff - interiors, bracelets, earrings etc. Infact she asked me to teach her max. It can't get better than that! :D And she is a gamer too. Loves and I mean…
