yeah I do use the sky model in blender on the whole, but its a very saturated look. it passable though for my purposes So you should n't really be a using a HDRI to light a big scene, even as ambient light?. i generally use the sun position addon to combine the HDRI with a single sunlight which matches the sun position…
Looks awesome! Have you thought about sharing the high-poly file for 3D printing? There are a few 3d printing tabletop communities that would go nuts over this stuff!
nit picking but change the background color in you diffuse to something other than white also maybe some subtle hue variation in the wood would be good I think.
Oh. I didnt use Motenai's set as reference. Mb I just inspired by him. :) About "net". I used blender for this. Сreated usual grid and transformed it in ZBrush. :)
This would be a good topic for Tech-Artists.org. A good amount of riggers there. A search should also net you some gems. http://tech-artists.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=17
Going a little nuts trying to finish this before the monday deadline for the Artstation environment art challenge. More on my submission page Here. [2.55 MB image removed by moderator]
The planks are a 300x300 texture I downloaded from the net. So magnifying them to actual size makes it look pixelated. I tiled the texture to get the high res look.
Seems pretty cool! However, that guy talking in the video has the most annoyingly monotonous voice, and just seems to be talking for nothing at times. I was driving me incredibly nuts.
Yeah I agree. There is some wear in their that the lighting isn't complimenting but that may mean I just need to push it more. I appreciate the nit picking though :) Everything helps!
