@gnoop I've just started testing Arnold myself - using MR then Vray then Corona for years - my main reason being the new SSS randomwalk 2 skin shader. Have you tested the Octane Skin shader and what DCC are you running it on? Also, how is Octane's Displacement? -

Yeah I would agree with everything @Mr Significant said @Zerogun . The spec map is really flat and not much variation at all. That's where you want to have details standing out a lot more. Look up how to make and use gloss maps too they are really important as well. -

Re: Maya Texture
You enable the Mental Ray plugin in the plugin manager and then that menu option should be there. If you're running Maya 2016 you need to download the Mental Ray plugin. Keep in mind that there are different MR plugins for different service pack versions of Maya, make sure you get the right one. -

I had no Idea there were so many AIP grads on PC..course I graduated in 96...Did any of you guys have Mr Zehnr(sp?) or that hippy Fran......Catizone was a good animation teacher...Pitt is a great town...I still crave Primanti Brothers Sandwiches -

Damn, never knew him as a comedian I do remember seeing him in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and loved his performance. That makes me feel sad, especially after seeing the you tube link here, he was a really funny guy, rest in peace Mr. Carlin.
