Agreed, headus is great and getting better. I think he could lower the price significantly though and ditch the dongle thing entirely. I'd rather pay £50 - £75 for a node-locked license than £220 for a dongle based one. The multi-seat licensing is a bit convoluted and manual as well.
Very interested in that kind of tool. Would buy without hesitation if done right. Currently I hope for the next Zbrush version to develop modeling tools and for Blender 3.0 to redesign UI, so I can (theoretically) leave AD software aside. I know people who think the same.
Wife works at gamestop (I know, I know) but said that pre-orders are stated at $300 but that it is a temporary holding price. If someone pre-orders it they have to tell them the price is subject to change. @Mezz The $1000 tag started with Gamestops website. It's since been taken down but it stated the price at $999.99.
are you using r32 bit displacement maps? if so, you aren't even supposed to open them in photoshop. this tutorial helped me get displacement maps working. i think i had to set my extrusion strength to 2.2 instead of 220. http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/ZBrush_to_3ds_Max
Aaaa. I didnt pick those up in the concept art. I thought that was a logo! Here is the tail fan from an EC 120. Eurocopter loves these ducted fan tails. My only concern is you have the mounting point right in the middle of the tail rotor duct. That will make placement difficult.
Yeah, that makes more sense, I managed to get my train tracks from 900 down to just over 300 by deleting unrequired faces and vertex which gives me more tris to play with for other models. My whole scene now is 12,096 after the cleanup. thanks for the help :)
Much better with the eye. Though I would take a look at the shoes towards the bottom. The tri count could probably be cut in half there. Maybe cut the count in the hands a bit as well, other than that it looks great. Also 32k tris is a good number. That's around what I generally aim for.
I second the Lide, but all I've ever scanned in are pencil drawings. Honestly, scanning pencil drawings...is not rocket science. :p Just give your drawing enough of a margin to avoid parts getting cropped off. I just use the grayscale scan at 300 dpi and tweak the levels in Photoshop.
It's not canceled, it's in a minor limbo. They are trying to iron out the financials again, as well as bringing in another writer to tweak the script. And the reason studios aren't "lining up" to make this is the price tag. Due to Microsoft's demands on the project, the movie has a price tag of about $325 million. That's…
Yah I am thinking of leaving the driver side door unlocked from now on. Thanks everyone for the kind words - and shitty news to those who've had this done before. I REAAAALLY wish I could have seen the fucker who did it. $220, all repaired and cleaned. WOOT.
