Thanks so much for your crits friend. Much appreciated. However, this is my normal painting style. I use the sketch ans a guideline for where all the elements go. The style comes naturally to me since I used to be in comic books. But when I paint, I go for a more detailed look. Hope it wont disappoint you.
After a LOOOOONG time I went back to this one. As I working on my hand painted texturing skills at the moment (http://dethling.deviantart.com/gallery/49023056) I decided to work on this "on the side" and make it more comic/wow'ish The progress so far... I redid the furnishing and doors/windows so far, small props will…
BECAUSE I LOVE IT ARGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! haha seriously though Ive always loved art, I wanted to be a comic book artist or illustrator while growing up and then my brother got into a games studio and I was like, 'what? people get paid to make games?......awesome!!!!' I still get to draw and now its all in lovely 3d :)
Sounds like the character models need to be very flexible to get alot of comic book expression out of them, so as a guess Id say it could take a month or less to get right for someone particularly good and fast at this type of thing. For someone whos not used to it it could take longer, especially the rigging! It really…
I manged to get 2 hours of dead time today so I redid the boots and tweaked "some" of the proportions. I mostly concentrated on the boots. I have a feeling I am going to slowly get rid of the stylized/comic book hero look I was trying for when I first started. Pic_01 update below
I enjoyed it. Not as great as the first one, but nothing really for me to complain about that isn't just nitpicking. I was very entertained. A couple of neat dork out moments for comic nerds. :) All the tech stuff like the hologram displays was brilliantly done, I'd love to see a write up on that. Oh, definitely be sure to…
[ QUOTE ] Why the heck was Egon's hair blonde in the cartoon? [/ QUOTE ] There was an explanation for it, but I just can't seem to find it anymore. They addressed it in one of the comics or the cartoon. Something to do with an experiment that blew up and turned his hair white. I can find references to in in fanfiction, but…
i got to see this at comic con a few weeks back. Peter Jackson introduced the movie, and got to meet Neil Blomkamp. it was a lot better than i thought it was going to be. I thought it was focus more about the racial aspects with the scifi being the undertone. it wasnt, go see it. they did a really good job not telling the…
Oh okay... thanks for the explanation on that... I tried a little trick earlier with taking the clean lines and copying them...and blurring the copy... I am thinking to maybe make the lines much bolder on the outside... kind of similar to a comic... Hopefully i can get the ball rolling on the model soon... I am using my…
might also want to mention that the character is "scarab", a regested character of Dave Mack's Kabuki~ aggree with kman about the spikes being too small (think going to the outside of the inklines in the comic reference/ else cheat on translating to 3d to get it to work. with the costume abstracting some of the muscular,…
