This is what I use daily, most of these are from scriptspot: - Regularize edge loop (turns any loop selection in a perfect circle) - Create-Modify switcher (I have this on Space) - Select Instances (one click select all scene instances) - Super smart create (from polycount), very useful for modeling - Advanced UV…
Since im currently working on the Stargate SG1 scene on UE4, and I want to participate in this one, I will just be doing the well prop instead of this whole scene. Here is what I have so far. Also it seems like the concept's perspective is a little off. If we go by how the concept looks then the well is actually an oval,…
Amazing! Really clean bake as well. Could you post some wires when you get the time :) One thing I did notice is your recoil spring seems to be to tight around the "tube" It looks like circles around instead of a "spring" Or change a bit the tube design :…
Thanks for even more feedback guys, I agree about keeping the plant small, as for thin leaves.. we'll have to see :) Went in circles for a bit but now i'm back on track. Wip of the retopology: Sorry bout the colour. was the only one that didn't show the topology lines over the hi res. bed time. Venusaur! SLEEP! zzz
Thanks Chris! Looking at the model again, softening the bevels would be a good idea, thanks for calling it out. Yea, I'm going to look into ProBoolean again, it was crashing Max consistently last night so i modeled the barrel space manually. Looked up the "Make Circle" function, neat--definitely adding to my arsenal. Is…
I can confirm about the lackluster performance from newer Nvidia cards. My old 8800 runs circles around the 560ti I have now, and the Ati 5570 card before that performed like a champ as well! I've run into all sorts of problems in Maya with this card, even after I went through different drivers.
it's 1 mesh per spline loft actor. But if you connect multiple spline loft actors together it stitches them together to make a continuous surface. Think of each actor as being a single control point on a spline. For example; to make a half circle you'd need 3 spline loft actors. This would make two copies of the assigned…
Link works for me, so not sure whats up. Looks pretty good, I'm digging the heavily stylized look. There is definitely room to improve some textures (under the bat, weird circle on his left side of the neck, etc) but I am sure you already know that. The face is looking really solid though. Good work!
Not sure what software you're using but in 3ds i would do it like this: Make a rectangular spline Add a corner radius to it Loft a circle around it This will leave some unnecessary geometry that can be cleaned up with Ctrl-backspace NB: i am a noob and this is in no way a definitive answer... just thought i would share…
Looking really ace so far! I am blown away you were able to get those nice circle and oval shapes without using floaters. I tend to fall back on floaters but I suppose I should tackle the problem head on! No crits so far, keep this up I can't wait to see the bake!
