Re: back into PC gaming
ikraan - i was just considering that one, i used to be a big fan of strategy games backin the days when my PC would run them. I've heard tell though that it's not very hot on the actual battlefield strategy, units not behaving as you'd expect and so forth. Is it more of a slightly arcadey pick-up-and-play particle-fest? -

Holy crap, that's a lot to take in, but here we go... I haven't seen "Life After People" mainly cause I don't watch much tv at all. About 2 shows, and that's it. Same with Jericho. Le Dernier Combat was another name for one of the previously mentioned movies I think. It looks interesting none the less, so I'll be checking… -

Ikraan, agreed. I looked Millennium up a couple of weeks ago because it was something that I remembered as being fun 10 (15?) years ago, but I'll be buggered if I can figure out how to use it again. -

I'm a big fan of platformers and have been since I was a kid (not that being 24 is old or anything). What I miss most are the arcade 2D beat'em up platformers. Like Alien vs Predator, TNMT, Golden Axe, Double Dragon, I could go on for ages! I guess why they don't work so well now is because of how simple they are. Walk… -

John - I use the Torque 2D engine for my games. It runs on PC, Mac and iPhone. achillesian - It's like Ikaruga in the sense that they're both shoot-em-ups, but this is a bullet-hell shmup, more like the games of Cave than Treasure. That means it's more about dodging slow-moving curtains of bullets than complex scoring… -

God dammit Ikaruga is one of my favorite games of all time. And Sonic Adventure 1 was an absolutely brilliant 3d Sonic game..that and my friend did the voice of Tails. -
