I'd say, we should all do character from the same concept art. Great learning experience and it's still up to each of us to decide the style of it. GameArtisan will have Comic Challenge something on the 1st of Jan anyway. So, let's keep noob learning something for us and different from challenge. ;P -

He's looking pretty good as far as detail (define some of those shapes a bit more). I would work on his overall proportions. He feels a little bloated as far as his legs and chest as compared to his comic character so maybe try to slim him down a little. Keep it up :) -

i havent read the comic, but the blue hand guys i assume were part of the blue sun corp, which is teh dominating future corporation of the firefly universe, you see their banners and comercials thruout the series, suposedly they were to play a major part in later storylines, but oop show go bye bye -

i just figured out what i thought were his eyes, aren't his eyes. for some reason i was reading the black circles as his large, confused eyes, giving him an oddly comical look. correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't the specular highlights go over the tat as well? -

I can see why being inbetween can hurt it for sure. The point of the project was definitely to make character and not the actor. I guess I leaned more toward catching the likeness too much.
