Re: Retopology in Maya
I was trying Maya today and I was looking for some retopology workflows or scripts and to my surprise I didn't find much. I think that Maya Live is pretty good. What's missing is a quick way to build geometry, like the Extend tool from Max (here's a video of how it works ). How hard would it be to script a tool like that? -

About the retopology, a good idea would be to plan the flows of your polygons by drawing them on a few renders before doing the retopology, the rest of my workflow is pretty straightforward. i'm just using the standard tools of 3dsMax . Having a family also changes how and where you can work. I've turned down game industry job offers in the past two years because I'm not going to move my wife and son away from their extended family. My son sees his grandparents once a week and that is very important and brings a lot of joy to them. -

Lets assume that all the characters are extended from "character" class. Then you could do it like this : Get all actors of class (class is character) -> get actor location. Punch monitor as hard as you can! What app are you using ? It seems you don't know the program you are working in very well. For something like that you can use booleans. I actually created cylinder for the tunnel. Extended open edges on one of the end. And formed those into square shape of the wall in which tunnel sits in. -

does anyone know if office 2003 still works on win10? maybe its best to wait a couple months on how it turns out, if its unexpectedly another Vista /8.0 fiasco, I will for sure stick to Win7. win7s Extended Support end date is the 1/14/2020. plenty of time for yet another windows release till then... -

It might just be the perspective, but it seems kinda squashed, the Akira bike is a long sleek bike, I think just extending out the rear and adding some cowling over the top of the engine (Like some kind of mud guard, haha) would get it looking more in line. Loving the attention to detail though, some very nice modeling! -

Its mainly because of the H1B lottery system. If you do study in the USA you can get a 1 year work permit which can be extended to 2 years for STEM related programs (don't know if this applies to game development) After that you have to get an H1B unless you find another way to stay in the USA. -
