I use 6x8 mainly. I had a 9x12 when I was at 5000ft Inc, which was really great. But 6x8 is just fine. -

IIRC this problem has to do with some options in the D3D display driver, might have been fixed by disabling "Use Cached D3DXMeshes". -

Iirc aurodesk support only covers two years prior to the current version. Its probably negotiable if you buy enough licenses though -
