Here is what I think of a weekly check in system and why I think it will help. It's not a cure-all but it does go a long way in fixing some of the core problems and bottle necks of the contest. I think the layout of your site needs some work. The thumbnails are so small, you can't tell what they are. I immediately wanted to just close the tab rather than click through 50 tiny thumbnails hoping something I was interested would come up. Ok, frames are evil, but if you must use them, then at least make them so that they are fixed. And I'd also drop the table border in the bottom section.
