Autodesk has a list of hardware they've tested with, might help http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/syscert?siteID=123112&id=18844534&results=1&stype=graphic&product_group=6&release=2014&os=8192&manuf=all&opt=1
I hate that change too, I used to love to select faces and boom got a new piece to work with. Surprised no one made a script/hack if its possible to make a script of the shift+click option, I miss It damn you Autodesk.
Hmm i'm currently learning about autodesks Do dads at the moment in college so i'd be a little bit of a novice in this sort of thing hopefully further then the line i can hopefully do that sort of thing. :) ((Also messed with filter forge and blender))
I was referring to the development from a user perspective. As in, does it feel like autodesk is making bigger moves with Max or putting more attention on it? They may have been all along, like I said my perception was they were pushing maya a lot.
I actually first seen the iron model http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-mudbox/gallery-finished-artwork/mini-iron-man-40-mudbox-texturing-41/ <-- there, it's definitely a great model, but i also agree with Firebert that the texturing is a bit overboard.
A couple more XSI resources I have bookmarked. http://rray.de/xsi/ - Softimage Resources http://www.threesixty3d.com/software/ - Plugins & Tools for Autodesk Softimage XSI - Freeware http://www.si-community.com/community/index.php?sid=6e392a7f75d56c2c3cb121243c41fe0a - Another XSI Forum
there are no optimal conditions, why do you think autodesk makes multiple 3d packages, and why everyone of them has a ton of people who make there own scripts and solutions. thats like a guitar player asking for the optimal guitar for all genres.
Oh, I've made a report to Autodesk sometime ago with this problem. It also occurs while working with components. However, later they said, that this was solved with UPDATE 1. Have you tried installing it? I haven't, so can't tell you exactly will this help.
What was that leaf monster making app... Alchemy? It had symmetry of some kind if I remember correctly. Autodesks Sketchbook pro has symmetry also. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_enqb1K6KOI"]Symmetry in Sketchbook Pro 11 - YouTube[/ame]
Thanks all for your replies, especially Pior. I have access to Autodesk's suite so it will be Max and Mudbox for me. I have been recently working on some straight up high poly for 3d printing so it's going to be an interesting journey.
