Your custom projectile does 75 damage. In kismet, there is a Take Damage event which will fire off when the damage taken is equal to the damage threshhold. Looks to me like a sculpted edge was re-used to apply detail to the edges of different highpoly modules. To get an edge to conform to different situations, I would look into deformers (e.g. bend, curve). If that doesn't do it, cut it up into segments, pose/deform, blend together anew. My only concern is that the damage at the sides is not really visible. The noisy texture in combination with normal map only damage make it nearly invisible. Considering how thin a typical aluminum can is, any damage that causes surface damage, would probably also cause structural damage. Personally, I didn`t read the can as damaged at all.
