id forget about implentation specific stuff, you dont need to worry about face swapping if your not exporting it to an engine. get some good concept art and copy it as closely as possible. They may have a few clever tricks to get certain looks but 99% of any good model is good observation from the concept art/ reference.
Thanks a lot!! @Noors it worked as described, one small snag tho is that it updates in real time after one key press but after being pressed multiple times it does not update until after I click off the selected slider. Would it be possible to add a "redraw view" function to the code upon each key being pressed?
Characters in source tend to be made of at least 3 material sets anyways. One face, One eyes, One body. Source uses defined shaders so you're merely swapping out the materials themselves not the shaders so performance is generally decent, although it's not the best lot's expected for a character to eat up a lot and not…
I also like the red, and like you said, you can always tone it down or swap it out if it just doesn't work. This got me reading Blood Angel stuff, and holy crap you could do a ton of cool stuff to throw in blood angel history/lore. The possibilities..:poly142: Watching this one with excitement for sure!
Got the Ugee 1920b, only reason I don't have it installed is because working on it is somehow really painful for my pinky fingers, my neck hates everything, and I often swap between apps. Can't complain tho, I'v had a lot of fun on it and I only return back to tablets because its just for the best.
I have been cheaping out on the geometry, haven't I? I'll probably swap out a good deal and add more interesting surfaces and lights to go along with it. So, for now: * feature GI effects more prominently * invest a little more geometry-wise. Thank you! Any suggestions are most appreciated and will be taken to heart in the…
Hey all, haven't updated this in a while - I decided to re-think the top as I tried a few skinning tests and as mentioned there were problems with the draping of the sleeve over the hands, so swapped it out for a hoodie. Still not happy with the cloth folds but it will get there :) Cheers! @Krista - will try PM you some…
This kinda of depends on what "game" you are making it for and if there will be any customization of the character. If any of the parts are going to be re-used or swapped out they will probably need to be separate pieces. This doesn't necessarily apply to personal work but it's something to keep in mind. Generally tho, I…
If anyone's interested: I have some scripts for a Source Engine-style cubemap implementation in Unity, where you put cubemap probe gameObjects everywhere, bake them in Unity editor, then use another script to "catch" the closest cubemap and swap that into your material. Details here:…
I've never had a background image problem in Max... sounds like it's more likely to do with your video card/choice of drivers. I just always set it to Lock Zoom/Pan, and Match Bitmap Size (or something like that) ... even having 3 different images in different viewports and swapping views like crazy causes no problems for…
