Yeah, when the decals are 'spawned' they are scaled accordingly to their resolution so I guess you get an indication of the right scale they should have, if you stick to this original scaling you're ok. Keep in mind that a 4096 is the same as 4 2048s, and each 2048 is the same as 4 1024s. So a 4096 is essentially 16 1024s, or 64 512s. So depending on how big the objects are, and the kind of detail necessary, you can cram quite a lot into a 4096. Though I think with current GPUs, using 4 2048 atlases might yet be more… -

Did a quick google search for extra info, nothing really substantial, but from the looks of the it, the internet provider will need to (again, just rumors) cut back on the speed, dropping it below American average...ouch. Also, the 'extra' will need to be taxed by the respective country apparently, and the entire structure… -

Oh ok that makes more sense. Yeah just mask the padding or do the padding all at once in post with the photoshop filter. If you're adding in extra elements the photoshop filter is probably best. 2.222e+004 = 2.222 * 10^4 = 22 222. It's the scale of the textures. You probably should use a lot smaller number, 256-512. With the combined noise textures you could lerp between, say, .8 and 1, and then multiply your original texture by that. The biggest issue with your texture is that your edge wear is applied uniformly across pretty much every edge of the model. This might seem like a good idea at the time but it doesn't look natural and just washes out the bevels in your normal map. But that's not your main problem... You mainly have a presentation problem.…
