This is a great discussion on rendering for comp, and I'd like to offer this video series I made for any help it might provide. http://www.cgbootcamp.com/tutorials/2009/10/19/cg-and-video-compositing-01-match-lighting-with-video.html
Isn't there an options button in UVW unwrap edit window with the latest max 2012 version? In 2009 there is an option panel that drops down and reveals some bitmap image options where you can set the dimensions of the bitmap image.
Just for the case, that anybody cares: Here are the final results after texturing in Substance Painter. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag2 He got 15 000 Quads. It took me about 3 I still hope for some feedback.
I don't see a crash coming. The game industry is just constantly changing like it always has. It sucks losing your job but don't listen to the doomsayers, you aren't entering into the gloomy job market of 2008-2009
[ QUOTE ] Man, I can't afford NOT to buy that right now! They've got themselves a new customer! [/ QUOTE ] Indeed. And if you buy 1.4 now for $109/£60/85 then 2.0 will be a free upgrade in a few weeks time.

But the screams from its users can be heard for blocks... http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/1/30/ Yea yea mac's aren't all that bad or expensive. The mac mini makes a great media PC btw.
Was alright, I guess. The casting was very nicely done. I guess not being a Star Trek fan renders it mediocre in my eyes :P Also, Simon Pegg is my nominee for "Worst Scottish Accent in a Film 2009".
There is no way to assign a shortcut key to the button in max, but this script will do the same thing (and more), and you can assign a shortcut to it. Works up to MAX 2009, not sure about 2010. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/pivotplacer -N!
