@dschmidt3d Thanks for the tips! I think I could up the global illumination on some of the lights to help with that. @ArNavart That's definitely not good. What browser are you using? I haven't been able to replicate the issue with chrome, firefox or edge. So I really have no idea what would cause that.
Much better! One thing I find that helps when trying to match a style, is to try to replicate exactly the reference material. So try to paint an exact copy of the Blizzard texture. Some art schools advocate this for learning more about a master painter's technique. I've done it, and it helped me.
Nah man you nailed it, cymbals are too high (more so on the left side (if you are facing the speakers) I will fix that in the mix, although I'm not great at mixing drums in general, I tend to listen to other bands and try and replicate their mixes... still don't fully "understand" it though :P
Couldn't replicate it, tried both 2011 & 2012 fbx with same UDK build. Can only guess you have something funky going on with a mesh/material. Maybe try working backwards, use 2 mat id's see if it works add another, so on and so forth until it breaks.
Reminds me: I was a the Legion of Honor the other day looking through the Rodin room.. and I said to my ex, "Ya know, if I came here and replicated any one of these sculptures *perfectly* in zbrush, then posted it for critique, I'd hear "Hey thats a good start"" Take care zwebb.
It does sort of, but the main reason I knew was because I read it on the page before. I can't really give you any particular tips on rubber texturing, go on Google and cgtextures and search for some rubber reference and try and replicate the texture and the colors, I think you can do it :)
When I see other people's art work I used to think that I'll never be that good. Now that I've had time to practice, when I see someone else's art work, mainly Substance Designer or Substance Painter, I want to know how to replicate it. Amazing post!
Yup yup, agreed. As I did with this entire piece, I'm not 100% concerned with replicating the concept to the T. It's obviously not an intention i had with this but more-so take the idea of 'face carved in to rock' and the general shapes. It's those shapes + rock detail I need to sort out, as the previous attempt was balls.
while you are learning, study and replicate everything you see. don't hold back on anything because this is the fastest way to learn, and once you've studied those details in all their intricacy they'll be a part of your memory, and you will be able to draw on them to visualise concepts. This is very important in artistic…
And you also need to have a good specular map,to see some nice specular highlights and variations, which is kinda missing now. For a good looking normal map,you can see some of the ut3 materials, and try to replicate the nodes used, that should give u good results. Vj
