Ah thats cool. Valve used some baked animation for faked physics in Episode 2 (when the house explodes) IIRC.

You have the scared or excited look going on with the eyes, enhanced by the fact the iris and pupil are a bit small, possibly the entire eye?

Up the antialiasing settings? Maya defaults them pretty low iirc. It also doesnt help that you are outputting them to gifs.

The problem with the piercing dents isn't the strength, it's the shape. They are modeled as a perfect circle, but IRL they are more of an almond shape () along the direction of the cheek.

he's referring to the metal arcing above the tires. their shape resolution is much lower than everything else and are rather eye-catching

maya should be able to output a different file per material applied to the model, theres a check box in the baking options iirc
