Thanks for the feedback guys! Firstly I've gone and taken the eyebrows back a step in the concepts. I think I'll just thicken them if they're a problem on mobile devices. My target sized mobile devices are the 7-inch/10-inch tablets; I didn't think about opening up to the phones as I wanted to try and keep this project… -

That would still produce issues with shadows and/or occlusion not being computed. I think the way to go would be a coloured ramp with luminance plugged into it as UVs. Like the TF2 shader or Unity's toon shader (ramp). -

I love this theme! Are you using any normal maps? Those might help make it pop out a little more and give the shapes some more definition. This tutorial might be helpful. For those in Canada, you can setup a TFSA (tax free savings account), use the money in it to play the stock market and any capital gains is tax free. -
