2-3 hrs a day IS PLENTY of time !! You just need to use them better. And thus, you should do our very own monthly character challenge. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=155966 This month is a little harder than last, but you should still be able to start on it nonetheless. Or if you do environment pieces,…
I'm back to making stuff now after unearthly + making folio and a big fat lazy holiday in the sun. New challenge for the year, learn maya. New challenge for the week, try not to punch my computer screen. So to help with the whole moving from max to maya, I have given myself and Hazardous some little exercises. Here is my…
I just beat the game, and it definitely gets more challenging as you go along, but still could have been more challenging I guess. I still had a absolute blast with the game and will replay it again soon. Sometimes the jumping and whatnot does mess up, but overall it works very well for how many differen't ways you can do…
Hey there Polycounters, it's been a while since I posted, altought I still sneak around watching some of the projects that go around, great stuff as always! I am here to show you my next project and hopefully get some feedback The ideia for this project came after I finished my Feudal Japan Challenge and it came as a way…
Hey there everyone. So this is something I've been meaning to do for a long time, but haven't really had the gumption to get around to. I've had a number of projects stop and start because of my indecision on how to approach getting a job at my studio of choice. Recently it sort of dawned on me thanks to a number of my…
Did the weekly hard surface challenge 2. Not too happy with a lot of it, it's not perfect but wwhatever I need to sleep. Some of the proportions are not as good as s6's and his nut holes (lel) are better proportioned, my thing doesnt meet in the middle flat and was a challenge, the bottom doesn't fade in and the edge…
Nice start man! Btw.. Hawken.. you suggested this in another thread " was thinking that you guys could do a challenge that models the entire cast of a film, say, Labyrinth for example. set poly limits and texture limits for each character, also let backgrounds be built as part of the challenge with poly and texture limits.…
And here it is: Old news 2 months later. But happy to say I finished. It took me a while, but I have to say this Nov. and Dec. Bi-Monthly challenge was the one that really got me started in pursuing and finishing my goals as I learned so much of what to do and what not to do. I stuck it out. Thank you for this challenge,…
Started texturing this weekend, trying to block out all the colors and roughness values. Been fun and challenging to get a nice stylized look. Lots to fix and finish (looking at it now while posting this I see so many mistakes) but all crits welcome! Can see my progress in my thread over…
You've already taken on the biggest challenge and I wouldn't put unwrapping and baking on the same level as HP modeling. Also depending on the engine the matierals might be painfully simple and easy to create. If you're not a great painter then working on a diffuse only game can be a challenge but really learning to unwrap…
