You can use the alpha channel of an image (targa, etc). Just plug the texture into the material's transparency port, and enable use alpha on the material. (clicking invert is optional, I did it to make black=transparent)
Ok cool thanks, i got that in an fx file loaded up, it has inputs for the refl stuff but nothing happens when i enable them and add maps to it. Using the newest max, 2008 or whatever.
could it be a lack of global subsampling? try max 2.5 star or hamersley. in the projection mapping rollout of the render to texture dialog click the options button. then the setup button in the projections options dialog. then enable global subsampler.
I'm trying to set a hotkey for rotate uvs +- 90 degrees in the UV editor, but the output doesn't show up in the macro recorder when recording is enabled. Any suggestions? Or where is the CUI entry for that command located?
like what Mop said, if you want a stronger nextgen glow, use a output material stick the glow map there, toy with the output amount and also you can enable realtime preview if you want.
As far as I remember you have to use the correct Max Biped Name for the Root Bone to enable animation blending in UT2003/2004, even when you are using Maya. But maybe I am wrong with that.
BM2Material 3.0 I would like to set the tiling in the viewport just to check it out. Under Materials/Default/Edit I get the display options but tiling isnt one of them. How do you enable this display option? Thanks in advance.
Yes, make sure sRGB is checked. This should be enabled by default for the Albedo slot. However, if you did something like load the normal map into the normal slot, and then accidentally load the same normal map into the albedo, this slot can get set to linear space (sRGB off).
Once you've created the free floating verts you can go into the face subobject level and enable 'create' there to create faces from them, or use the ribbons 'Step Build' modeling tool.
That fixed it, thank you. I will update, if it occurs again without auto key enabled. I cannot remember if I had it turned on when it first occurred. It would make sense though.
