Yep the guy had a hat but decided it didnt work. Here is my other guy so far .. still quite a bit to go .. the scar isnt working very well, might drop it. Anyway got gif animations working in photoshop and was able to host it successfully on imageshack. Photobucket kept resizing the gif :poly122:
Last place: nada. Ended up buying the game myself when it dropped to $10 at Best Buy. Mythic (so far, haven't been here long enough to ship anything): Warhammer poster, Mythic sweatshirt, DAoC hat, little Warhammer figurine, and had a free mug thrown at me (it broke). ...and laughter!
I had some time and I finished sculpting the hat and added some temporary fibermesh as hair. I was thinking of creating some hair cards for her, but I've never done it before. I'm a little unsure of the best approach, mostly for things like.. eyebrows. Do you guys have any tips on this? Thanks for all your comments!
I'm sorry, would it better if I had said that the entire face is scrunched in like some sort of human-bug from Psychonauts with impossible lips? I didn't realize it was necessary to always be super serious, let me go put a serious hat on while I'm at it. Atleast getting amusement from it can be construed as positive in…
last time I messed with source, I found that there terrain system is pretty horrible > stitching multiple small patches together that can only have one texture blend per patch. Any time I see large outdoor areas in a source game I have to tip my hat because that had to be a major headache.
wow! Hats off. you're making my fav character and it's coming along really nice. i would just move up the front of the helm (it should look more like an eagle's head) and scale up the sword of 1/3. texturing is awesome! i had a lot of fun modeling him for the vg remix ;)
I'll throw my hat in for Digital Lighting and Rendering (that's the first book my art director had me read back in my internship) as well as studying film noir. You can also look in to lighting setups for photography and the theater, depending on what look you're after. There are some nice ideas to be found there too.
This was my first big Gear character at Epic. This image was what I used to show the high poly vs the low poly. I did this for awhile to make sure I wasn't losing too much and to also see exactly what is lost in the low poly. High vs Low is labeled. This is the new Hoffman for Gears of War 3. The Head is from Kevin…
Thank you guys for the responses. You really opened my eyes and i totally agree with the mistakes i made with the colors. @ skyline5gtr Good point. I'll keep the neon green mask and tone down the rest of his clothes / armor. @ Lukitscherie Yeah the hair lost about half of the original volume, it was the first time i…
I dunno about the Batman/TF comparison. I agree Batman is generally more serious, but most people's exposure to the character includes the Adam West "BAM! POW!" television show as well as the ice skates and nipples on Clooney's costume in Batman & Robin. The Dark Knight is old hat to people who read Frank Miller's work,…
