The environment looks great so far! I'm a nooby 3D artist (only 16) so I must ask: Where did you learn 3D art the best? And where would you recommend for younger artist?
cheers monster, i should have got this seen to a long while ago, but yeah I don't like doctors. haven't seen one in 16 years seems you have caught double post syndrome too:)
started going bald when i was 16, that was 14 years ago, so i dont really care anymore, i am actually growing the side hair out and i spike it out like Heihachi Mishima.

not a fan of the lips. not sure if you are trying to got for an Angelina thing, cause right now all i keep thinking is she has a cleft palate scar. http://www.deviantart.com/art/Sarah-Kerrigan-HOTS-16-359439308
yeah, mine was 20 sides, not 16, but I see what you are saying, although the other examples had the same pinching. I think the artist would have to have more sides anyway to totally get rid of it.
It looks like a quantization problem. Make sure all the nodes before the height to normal node are set to compute in 16 bits per channel. Also, if the graph is based on an imported bitmap, make sure that bitmap is 16bpc as well.
well if you have ribs modeled around the middle they look bumpy without a lot of divisions, if its just a plain tube 16 would be fine, also it depends on if its a small pipe or large cylinder shaped building.
