A practical person would have used a list to list compatible programs but clearly whoever wrote that quote works in marketing and prefers bloated paragraphs with lots of capital letters! Actually, right there is another tip for QA: lists are awesome.* They're easy to write * They're easy to read * They break things down…
In glTF PBR, metalness cancels out transmission. I suspect Substance may follow the same logic. The idea is that metals are not transparent, so as you increase metallic the transmission is decreased. In metallic-rough PBR, metal should be mostly full-metal or no-metal... partial-metallic causes non-physical shading…
sry for the situation, appreciate the shared experience all around, only thing i could add is: find out what else you can do with it.? Ideas: hacked or modded boot time "bios's", out there floating in the more user experienced sites? or messaging "youtubers", whom dabble in modding scenarios. All the best with it @ least…
Really cool. I like the jade, ice, and purple plastic but the smoke and ghost are reading more like flocked plastic. Perhaps some transparency and some alpha cards would help sell it? I think Breaking up the silhouette would be the only way to really make it look gaseous. Although I would imagine trying to get a mesh to…
Looks good. Don't be afraid to use some sharp edges and flat surfaces on the cloth, it seems counter intuitive for something that you'd typically expect to be soft, but it'll help to break up the surface so that the folds will read better. Thanks for the feedback, guys. I agree with you about the eye but I'm torn. I'll…
yeah, it was a roundabout way of saying something simple. I think when people read something that they've already seen before they tend to dismiss it, especially if its general advice you'd hear anywhere. I don't advocate being a contrarian. But when it's learning time, I advocate questioning everything and making an…
Definitely ! Thanks for the feedback @LloydHallam ! I did put a smirk on the girl character but i realize we don't read it so well... I will exaggerate her expression a bit. For the break of direction continuity in the action, yeah since it was present in the reference and wasn't bothering me, i didn't dare to touch it…
thanks Tectonic, will definitely read up on as much info as I can :) So I made some quick bakes in xNormal and here is the result so far, the poly count in probably a little high for just a muzzle break and some edges have really obvious normal map errors, also AO map has edge issues. Would really appreciate any…
Box mapping does not unfold the box. It does six planar maps. If you want an unfolded UV, use Pelt. Or use Planar on the whole thing, then break the edges where you want the seams, then Relax. When you can't edit anything, this usually means the modifier stack was in Sub-Object mode when you applied the UVW Unwrap…
Nice stuff, after reading the features and FAQ on the game's website I have to say it sounds like an interesting project — I'll have to keep an eye on this one. I'll be interested in how wind will be implemented (Calibrated scopes, bipods?) ; realistic bullet physics and damage/bleeding are what I love most about Breaking…
