Real good modeling. What shader are you using for your render? Only crit is that you are missing the detail at the top above the clock circle, in the reference there is some molding detail that you left out of your model. I also think the hour hand needs to be a little bit longer. -

Ask yourself how is this model going to be viewed? Is the game from a first-person perspective, or a racing game, a flying sim, etc.? The ring there is really small in screen space, so I would just map 1/8th or 1/4 of the circumference, and repeat that all the way around the circle. -

yeah it lofts from start to end and you can change that shape within the loft, from circle to square how will it decide where to start or where to end? unless everything should be handled the same, but i fear it's just not made for that as it's like 100 years old and not touched since that time. -

Cage is too big. Make it smaller to avoid the pink-circled problem. Think about it... one side of the crease is grabbing some mesh from the other side, because its cage is overlapping the mesh on the other side of the crease. Decrease the cage length until it doesn't overlap the other side. -

But the workflow would be following: make circle, change it like you want and then collapse the layers ndo created. then open your normal map and copy the newly created image over there. be carefull to rotate the additional normal corresponding to your unwrap though. I'm really really curious to see how you modeled those tiny holes in your high res. Unless, it's smoke and mirror circle planes :D But I can definitely see geometry on the main engine blocks, so it would be killer to see some breakdowns for those shapes :) -

I use this one all the time. I absolutely love it, the circles make it easy to notice slight squashes, the text/colors let me know exactly where on the map I'm looking at and if it's mirrored, and the individual pixels make it easy to tell just how good the map is going to look. -

I actualy dont know, i ripped the cover off, but its like regular paper, only thicker. The circles/bubbles are from smudging with my finger, the strokes come from smudging with a tissue. Its too sensetive for me, one mistake and you compleetly smudge everything to a blur. -

Doh, I thought you meant turn the barrel 45 degrees around its axis. Which btw, you should probably do. Somewhat oddly, the brain reads a diamond shape to be much more like a circle than a square, even though they have the same number of sides. -
Max 2010 Edit UVW channel 2?
I've run into this problem in Max 2010, wonder if anyone has a fix. I'm unable to access map channel 2 in the UV editor. Switching to map channel 2, as circled in red, does nothing. In previous versions I get a pop-up asking if I want to perform this operation, then everything works as intended.
