applied some of the materials into Unreal and made a simple Landscape Material. Going to need to re-work some of the materials so they tile better, and also get to work on some more plant variations and some Trees, as well as working on detailing and refine the Crab and House Textures and the post processing material…
I'm not sure if there's a standard setting for something like that because it would widely vary on gameplay and platform requirements. I imagine something like Everest VR's terrain texture setup to be vastly different from Ace Combat 7's setup. The Landscape and Texturing section of the Polycount wiki might be a good place…
Hi Is it possible to use the megascnas ground textures in UE4 as a landscape texture? How can i use one of the textures like a simple material un UE4 or do i need to export it with a mesh into UE4 ? Thanx, awesome tool by the way... i'm using it the first time for my 3d objects and the results are just awesome!
Just started using cryengine for a portfolio project (mainly to experiment with the landscape and foliage) though is there any way for it to remember my terrain brush settings? As soon as I go to play it reverts to the default and also kicks me out of the modify tab. Just a minor issue but maybe you guys know a setting I…
If you have large surfaces, such as landscapes or walls etc, you almost always want to use vertex paint to break up the tiling and add things like dirt. If you had to make a unique texture for all those, the texture size will end up being huge, meaning using lot more memory then needed.
Have you rebuilt lighting since the last time you have added a mesh or edited anything brush, landscape, or light wise? I know that the material's reaction to lighting can change quite a bit after rebuilding. I know this seems obvious but it's always the first thing you need to ask yourself. d:
If it's a still render project then just fake it. Eyeball the scale and use the camera to give you more depth and a sense of a vast area. Also change your system units to something more suitable for a large scene. Look at VFX breakdowns on YT and see how they use matte paintings to turn tiny studios into far off landscapes.
love it already, good landscape too. I'm not to sure about those tires though. I think regular tire grooves might fit it better since with those smooth tires you are not gonna have a nice ride in a desert. Look at some desert rally car tires, they have a lot of grooves and bumps for more grip.
I'm working on a study of the style in Maya using this character and a similar landscape as found in the above photo: . Eventually I want to explore this style in UDK, but I'm not really there yet. Right. I guess post works for now. I attempted a high res texture in the diffuse and it was lacking sharpness. Any other…
And yet more... I love to do speedpaintings to keep my motivation up. It's hard to keep up with music and concept art while studying engineering... But I'm trying my best!! Matte painting, my first one! Fully rendered landscape concept 2h speedy Concept practice! 1hr speedies 30 min speedy
