I have more time for working on my personal projects lately- so I decided that it's time for me to circle back to this project at bit more. This is my third blocking pass- happy but I think I can still push it more terms of lighting and level design.
the other day I saw some images posted in a thread about how to make circles come out of squares (and so on) but can't for the life of me find that thread. So if you have any cool images of modelling techniques that you think are helpfull on lowpoly cage to meshsmooth please post here!!
I'm after a thread i read on polycount but cant remember what it was titled (subd modelling maybe) but it involved various people giving tuts on using splines and other stuff to make shapes, most prominent was spline circles being connected to make a knife handle.. A link would be very much appreciated
Unreal Scene View: Wireframe: Material: Im trying to stag decals. But as you see sometimes the vent is shown, sometimes not and sometimes a bit. I want to stag 3 decals the plate, the circle and the vent. But as you see in the middle the vent is not shown. Could someone please help me?
Turns out i was wrong about what my problem is,i have it on the blender preset as well. It's that you can't click on the rotate circle thing when trying to rotate on an axis unless your doing it from a certain side. Else itll just try to select, and it's infuriating
The openings at the front look too squared. Looking harder at the shape you see the 3d model looks like 2 half circles, where the concept has a different shape with more rounded edges at the corners. It wouldn't matter to not follow the concept but I think that it looks better in the concept.
Thanks guys! NanoTurtle- I use pretty much the same techniques that have been circling around Polycount lately and plenty of elbow grease, Ill see if I have some time this weekend to sum it up! Steve0- Thanks man, Ill swing by your thread later!
go ahead and put 2 dots down on a big page, and try join them up. repeat x100. ?????. Your draftsmanship level will dramatically improve. also freehand ellipses and dare you try, the perfect Circle are good practise/warm ups. keep studying hard!
ok I like the idea of the truck up front but the building that is circled still needs to be seen what I have in the current concept is that the truck is pointing your eye down that alley towards the market/resturant building?
Bluueehh... Time to put this guy away. Doodled a little more on this dude, but I'm seriously disliking hardsurface sculpting in zbrush. Takes too long, never get perfect straight lines or round circles and just all round messy. Back to aliens/monsters/demons/ for me :D
