I just double checked all the models and I'd really like to rig em but I'd like to work on some cartoon rig face :/ meanwhile there's some impressive stuff in this thread :) I wish I had this thread when I was building my animation reel:(
na very cool! hard to crit but if I had to I would say the most potential lies in better defining the materials. even or especial bc it's a cartoon style. Cloth is cloth but the metal / plastic stuff could read clearer! keep it up, super nice work!
Hey thanks guys. Yeah I do plan on taking a break from that environment (I need to do an exterior and vehicle) and finish that cartoon pirate ship. After that I was thinking of looking at exterior buildings using modular pieces and that fancy UDK building-maker-thing.
Hey everyone, I am looking for some concept art so that I can practice hand painted and cartoon modelling. Does anyone have any concept art for objects similar to: That they would be willing to let me use. If I post my model online I will be sure to link to your work. Thanks in advance :)
Hey, guys. I decided to create a cartoon character for a mobile game and I want to post my progress here. So my character is fairyologist and member some squad, she searches for fairies in a magic forest, catches and studies them. Sometimes she needs to fight with evil fairy hunters. Here is my refs and base body blockout
Really, really cute stuff!!! I would say your photo-sourced textures could use a lot more love (think grime, wear, scratches), but your cartoon stuff is extremely appealing! Keep it up. p.s. Cactus Fantastico is an awesome name lol, makes me smile x]
For what it's worth, I think your original head worked pretty well as a stylised/cartoon design. Your models might not be entirely anatomically correct, but they do possess a lot of personality, something that's often lacking in a lot of people's character art. Try not to hold onto that as you develop your skills
Liking the style, specially on the cuts for the torso and the pectorals, the legs look indeed a bit small but i don't think they would bother it gives it that "cartoon" effect also the perspective is not helping i bet ;) , you should try to see how it look tho. I subbed looks great so far :)
My latest work done at school. I've kind of rotoscoped a sequence of a french cartoon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Czybe-uVd0&feature=youtu.be It's the first time where I really ''broke'' a rig to achieve desired poses (they're kind of extreme). Lip Sync isnt done though..
