Got some time this weekend to work on that old guy i have been doing, so i laid out some quick polypaint and started messing with marmoset 2, still tonnes of work to do, and then i will move on to the clothing, hopefully i will have more time to finish this dude
If polypaint isn't an issue, you can use Projection Master to lay down some black color (which can then get turned into a mask once you reenter edit mode). This will let you repeat the last stroke using '1', which you can then move around afterwards.
Paused a bit the techno guy (feeling a bit more confident to make some cool funky stuff). Here's my Pokemon X Street Fighter remix, my entry for a Fighting Game Fanart Challenge : Final entry will have the four characters posed and polypainted. ~3 weeks left !
Fixed a few proportion stuff, added the parts of the back, maya part is pretty much done, do a few touch ups on zbrush and then... I'm not sure whether to start polypainting it or do the retopology and then texture afterwards. Anywho, break for now and comment please getting a bit sad by the lack of them :(
here is another update last one for today... tomorrow I tackle Decals and polypainting sand on the street level. The decals should add more grunge and garbage to the scene, Also some cool graffiti and neon signs. Then on Wednesday I finalize lighting and PP. So keep the critiques coming!
Last update for the night, I think I'm beginning to enjoy Zbrush more and more I work on this. Started to simplify the scene because of the deadline, still need to finish sculpting, polypaint, then gotta get it into UDK. Wow, that sounds like more work now that I read it back to myself.
Zapplink, once brought back into zbrush, should throw the results onto the polypaint. This could be converted to a texture like normal. There's also a new way in ZB4 to export the document, load the result into spotlight, and then paint it back onto the model. But I think the quickest way is the displacement/imageplane…
i'm guessing you only want the very front surface masked? you could try polypainting it using the backface and/or topological masking options and then doing a mask by intensity or similar. my guess is the automasking options dont work with the mask brushes but i'm pretty sure they do with the normal ones.
rn I work on this Mushroom covered creature. the Concept is a Lizard / human base that gets infested by Mushroom cultures in a parasitic way In my WIP shots I use polypaint to show the veiwer the details because I was told its hard to tell with only a single color :p Any kind of critic or comments about it are welcome
A version with quick polypaint to get a sense of the appearance. I hope to add the rest of the detail through the backing and texturing. As this may be my limits in zbrush at the moment, as I am learning new things along the way. I will also do some quick poses to get an idea of the overall.
