Just model it? I mean it's just many planes modeled in the shape of feathers stacked together to from a wing. Don't complicate your life by looking for a 'magic' button that will solve the issue. -

Partition Magic is great, I've never had any issues with it. I have to second Vig on the OS partition. I have a partition for XP and my data/applications on another partition. -

VFX magic. Dedicated for all VFX artists. The particle was made with simple pFlow in 3ds max. Fractured part was made with fracture script And then it's just a matter of compositing all the components in Photoshop -

A little trick, place your prop inside a sphere that is 100% emissive "like bold red" then tileshot to get a screenshot, take it in Photoshop magic wand the red and bam, good to go. -

Its a start... id like to see the pattern etc. GOOD LUCK. The other kids in class are coming at you with scimitar, chainsaw and also chaos sword... hope this blue dagger is magic.
