hot shit! sounds fucking awesome. we do the whole "yankee swap" deal at work. people bring small children to the party and let them choose, which makes wrapping up porn a little awkward. but it's cool, 'cause they can exchange it...
Thanks a lot guys! yeah it was an awesome moment for me. Thanks for all the love and congrats! here are a few of the renders that I gave Alex. Hopefully you can snag a peek at the workflow. I gave him some toon shaded renders too:
Loud footsteps, inertia and a heavily swaying view would emphasize that you're piloting a mech and not walking around yourself. Don't fret, Jupiter Effect (the only other mech mod for UT2003 I'm aware of) doesn't give the "huge mech" feel either.
Been playing lots of "woodland warrior". Basically running about in the woods plundering deer stands and barns. Here's a few tips, some are common knowledge some just things i've observed. hope it helps. 1. Avoid contact with anyone. 2. Stay well away from the larger towns, castles and airfields (Bandit country) 3. Never…
Okay I have some updates on this! Initially my plan was to use the 12WX along with a virtual keyboard app (preferably better than the default one!) so I started hunting around. The best solution I found so far is Touch-It: http://www.chessware.ch/virtual-keyboard/index.php However it does not support dual screen setups,…
I ask because it looks suspiciously like the bit with the artefact is mapped to the back side of it's mirrored partner. Why? The dark grey is ambient occlusion. No inverted UVs means you're not reusing space per side, you're swapping sides around. The shape of the occlusion matches the triangle on the left side.
Thanks for all the great info. In this case I will swap to using reflectivity. Obviously when using a specific engine you don't really get a choice. In those cases I guess you would just have to place scratches etc strategically so they aren't too close to the camera?
You could be pregnant. Trust me, I'm a doctor. Swap out the crap you eat with nuts, fruits, yoghurt, dried fruits or trail mix (what is that even? Crazy yankees). I did that when I was last working at a studio. Could still do it now, come to think of it...
Didn't realize that, thanks! I've updated the specmap but decided to swap out the tiles anyway. What do you guys think of the new tiles? Also, decreased the gloss on the tiles (thanks for the tip), tweaked the lighting some more, and added trim and color grading. Think the lighting could be better?
You could of course fake it by just swapping out meshes. If you want to do it the "proper" way you would probably make use of blend shapes/morph targets. Since it is just for the hair thingies, using blend shapes should not be too hard as there only will be 1 aditional shape.
