My 2Ghz quad, 6Gb memory, 6000 series Radeon ultrabook cost around £500 :p That's what I would have expected. I've noticed differences between different GPUs before (even between the same model but different manufacturers), but this one is a bit out there.
That's why I was wondering if it was for the characters as well as the Apex, but I still didn't get a response to that. Just what APEX was xD @Hito seems to have gotten it though :) So: $500 for Character animations, fitting rigs to the characters, adding a bone in the rig.. plus the added support for the APEX..
Like this. Here is a comparison. But it could be optimized even further without loosing quality. Also one thing to not forget, this thing wouldn't get more than 500 pixels on the screen, even in an fps game. In a tps or something that isn't fps, its like between 50-70...

I found out that the edge settings have to be set up at the very end, after triangulation, if not it sometimes fucks all the things off. but I may not have the latest build of the ax plugin though (maya 5.0 - recently downloaded the build available on the public section of the udn)
Its for a RTS its 596 tris they said 550-600. the only parts that are done are the face (might redue it so he will be pissd looking) the hands, and the coat front -the bottom pockets. Thanks brome the one on thr right is the new skin, the left is the crapy old one.
thanks Cheese, yeah just with an alpha.. finally, I changed my method, I decided to finalize the low poly version first.. 5670 tri without the hair... I guess I'll have to light up a little bit on some parts to fit the 6k polycount..
Hi everyone, this day i almost finished some little crate and barrels with the normals and the AO. It remains only the diffuse. 180 triangles for the big box, 100 tris for the little and 216 for the barrel and 370 for the other. I would like to have a visual style like TF2.:)
Thanks for the comments rumblesushi At this point its gone a bit beyond 2000, i cant really say off the top of my head what it's at, but i'd wager it to run a bit slower on a flash engine. I believe both players sit just under 500 tris
