That's why you use Normal maps, the LOD1 could use 400 polygons or less, my model is 548 tris because i dint care about optimizing, The wings have chamfered edges and other minor stuff. with the normal map you can do the Lines and Steps you need in your model. but if you are using if for a RTS it should be the lowest as… -

Vista's that bad eh? Most of the PC's Ive seen with 400 to 500 watts are around 700 to 800 bucks I simply just don't have the money for those. How bad could it be just to stick with the 350 watt PC? I could still run Unreal 3 or any other next gen game with the proper video card couldn't I? -

yeah I second stimpacks suggestion don't put any electronics in the checked luggage. Most airlines will only insure checked luggage to a value of 300-400 dollars. If your stuff is worth more than that you are screwed if they break it. However if you have travel insurance they'll usually cover it. I always carry my laptop… -

I'm on a 500 watt 21 amp PSU, with an eVGA 8800GTS. You should be fine. You can buy a high range PSU for a lot less than 150, see link below aprox 81 USD at 700watts: http://www.buyxg.com/store/item.asp?key=PS-109-110 That will more than cover your minimum, it's 40A on the 12V rail. -

Unless you got alot of money laying around, the best cpu/mobo combo that's affordable is the AMD64 3700+ (1mb cache) on an Asus A8V PCI-E board dual cores are too spendy ;/, but the majority of the cost will be your video card around $300~$400 for something decent Absoulutely get a 2gb dual channel ram kit (2x1gb sticks) -

I dunno man, people are routinely paying more than that for phones which get replaced far more frequently than consoles. The $400 price point isn't far off from last generation either, in the case of the ps4 it is quite a bit lower, but I'm pretty sure the console cycle won't be as long. -
