For German speaking polycounters - Digital Production. Often quite VFX and film centric. Less tutorial and art showcases but a lot of background and behind the scenes reports. It's quite expensive but it's also got more than three times as many pages as most other mags.
General Discussion is not the right place to post tutorials like this. I'm moving this to 3D Showcase. This is not a big deal, just be aware of where to post in the future, check the forum descriptions. You also double posted in both GD and 3D, so I removed the repost.
Touché. I haven't heard about it, but they do showcase a lot of student work on their FZD School page (which all look breathtaking btw.) I don't think they need to use the student work for that end... FZ has a very big portfolio already...
Just dropping a line in here to let everyone know that submission threads for the contest just went live. Hop on over to C&C and showcase your work, so I can drool some more! Or, ya know, stop on by to take a gander at the awesomeness. :)
hey man, that is looking pretty solid! i love the detail on the floor and how that turned out. You are getting really solid materials and your light even tho is subtle, it's working perfectly to showcase this. With more dramatic lighting and more work this is gonna be sweet.
This is an animation but I think it's more of a presentation of a 3d model. I think the 3D modelers could give you better advice on it, since they do sculptures and do stuff like posing for figures/products :) https://polycount.com/categories/3d-art-showcase-critiques
[ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE97AlpjRr0&feature=player_embedded[/ame] WiiU (soooo wierd !) montage. I dunno, looks pretty solid. Of course, when they showcase the new Mario and Zelda titles, I'll scoop one of these up without thinking. Such is life.
Hmm. Ok. So answer me this: If Microsoft is targeting the CASUAL gamer with their new technology, then how come they put all their efforts at E3 into showcasing Kinect? Last I checked, the so-called 'casual gamer' probably doesn't even KNOW what E3 is.
I've had the same thought for awhile now, so I'm for it. Unless there is some technical issue, I think it'd be great to spread some love. If the art was just in a general showcase thread, maybe make the artist's name in the banner link to the forum profile?
I would say generally it's good to show that you have traditional art skills as well. However looking at your illustrations I would say skip it because they do not showcase anything that would be relevant to your work such as composition, shading, texture or lighting.
