Something silly I did over the weekend to refresh myself on using Blender: I was originally going to do a 128 challenge (128 tris, 128x128 texture) but realised pretty quick that 128 is insanely low, Goofy would have become a Minecraft skin. Bumped it up to a limit of 256 tris and that was still tricky. Texture was done by…
Ack, late post and I didn't finish the weapon or the textures. Still gonna go back and finish it up, but I'm going to definitely start sooner in Februrary. :) So far it's just under 14k tris, there's lots of optimization I need to do with the fur, shoelaces and get it down to 10k.
OK warby I found something similar to what you're saying. I think you're using unsigned normal maps, which for your engine means a 128 color is considered a non-bent normal (pointing straight up on X/red). Here's a quote from one of our graphics programmers: [ QUOTE ] Signed normal maps are useful for helping to hide…
*sarcasm* wow...i didn't see this one coming. */sarcasm* sentenced to death for killing 148 shi'ites nearly 25 years ago. this news definitely shadows the US army's monthly 100+ death toll in Iraq.
Thanks guys, ive changed it slightly tonight, moved things around. Ive also done the low poly baking on the wheels. (as you can see, ive added the pedals in) all 4 wheels will be around 1k, so thats 14k to spend elsewhere on this piece! Thanks for looking, any C&C would be appreciated.
It's pretty easy. Go to your softimage install directory /Application/AutoCam/Textures That holds all the viewcube textures. Right click on the Textures folder and disable read only and knock yourself out with the textures! For the viewcube, they did upscale a 128*768 texture to 128*1024, so just work in a 128*768 (ie.…

Teddy, Eric or Wiktor Can we please have an answer to this question about the GPU baker? :) http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2349398&postcount=148 I'm glad to see many others in this thread are also curious about hardsurface curvature.
