Been watching this, its looking great! For the metalness map in UE4, white = metal and black = non-metal. Maybe that's causing your issue.

I see nothing wrong with doing a scene in UE4/CryEngine/Unity, and then displaying individual props and breakdowns in Marmoset 2 or a viewport shader.

I use ue4 so assume Unity is just for importing within that engine? Or does is straight up edit the texture to be imported elsewhere?

I'm using UE4, as far as I know it generates light maps UV automatically, or should I do them manually in Maya?

yeah. I take the ue4 template material and just play around with the gloss, color and metalness values, but no texture applied. Rest is lighting.

I was under the impression non square textures didn't mip at all in UE4? - even read it in the documentation somewhere - am I mistaken?
