I'm currently using Torque Engine Advanced from GarageGames, and let me tell you I do not recommend them. 3D Studio looks like a better platform to use, along with TV3D and some others. Do your research first. Don't make the same mistake I did. I just jumped right in and wasted $300 dollars. -

4gb isn't that much for the kind of stuff people do here, and that sounds like the problem you're specifically running in to. It won't make your stuff faster or more responsive, like an SSD will but it will solve those problem's you're having. nice design but you are spending sooooo many tris/polys on those tubes underneath i would seriously think about reducing the crossection to 10edges and the loft to 16 (or sommit) i think youd save about 300-500 tris there with little difference, spend them on the propeller gaurd which isnt as round as the tube (even though… -

In kind of the same vein as Gauss...I'm not really sure why they practically replicate the actors in 3d. I'd rather see real actors on tons of blue screen (Like 300) than full 3d versions of them striving for photorealism. Why not use their voices but get a little more funky with the character design? So far the roof is about 30k tris, but I'm cutting out a lot of sections (trying to make it less uniform), and hopefully I can get it down between 20-25k. Overall, I have a 150k budget for this, so I'd rather keep the supports polygonal. If however later it seems too heavy, I can always go with Barnstable's suggestion. -
