Most good apps have snapping tools which will do this. 3dsMax has snaps which, if set, will allow you to extrude edges and cut verts, all snapping to a high-poly mesh. There is also Polyboost which has better functions for this, but costs money. Maya has "Make Live" which lets you snap any meshes to a selected mesh and…
lol this is freaky, I've been researching steampunk for the last few days for a piece I'm working on. This little fella has popped up like a million times ^^. Like Firebert said tho, functionality is key from what I've been seeing. Or rather, OVER-functionality. Why use 1 cog when 3cogs some wires and a set of pulleys will…
Home has a compatibility mode I believe. What you are talking about is the XP emulator thats only available with Pro or Ultimate. In other words a virtual machine. No reason for home x64 edition. Other than... Its missing the interface for direct implementation of system rules. So turning off the built in tablet functions…
After a long public beta we have finally arrived and the wait is over! Knald 1.0 has been released! :D We would like to truly thank everyone for all their hard work & dedication in helping us make Knald the best that it can be. Going forward our journey will continue to update and improve Knald, so please feel free to keep…
Send him this topic and let him read what we wrote, but here is my opinion about. It's pretty rude and in poor taste to hold your brother as a hostage on what simply is an OS choice, and to let his fanboysim be such a point that he would be even a douche to his own brother. Windows 7 is better then XP due to the fact that…
Last one for the day :D this is how you can currently create a node in GraphN. The node that you're seeing here takes a really small folder creation function in Python, and exposes it in a super user-friendly node. From then on, you can keep stacking features on top of it until you have a fully fledged folders management…
To me it looks like a fireplace, with all the clutter of souvenirs and memories, including a old classic motorbike. I don't think it's doors or entrance. The greybox is not high enough to be any kind of entrance, at most it goes up to shoulders, so seriously doubt it has anything to do with doors. However it's up to you…
Seems a bit steep with all the "how to build portfolio" threads that pop up all the time, including Web address & hosting for £40 - 2years. Hosting prices based off one.com & holeinthewallhostings.com Wordpress with a decent template is free & it has a built in content managing system that can be picked up in 10 mins. It…
blackmagic fusion would be another one to look at. or autodesk flame if that happens to come with a free version now (last i looked they were on a drive to 'democratize' it after all). the latter has some decent editing functionality but their real compositing/editing hybrid solution is called smoke. anyway, you'll mainly…
You need to recreate the Fresnel function, not use the standard one that comes with UDK since what you're looking for is a Light based Fresnel as opposed Camera centered one. I think the latest version of UDK has a Function called Fresnel under Material Library. Use that, and stick in the Camera slot Light Vector instead.…
