Managed to get the silhouette of the assets blocked out, lighting is still very rough. Also the left side is a glass showcase/cabinet but haven't got to material response yet. Feedback is welcome any time for any stage i'll take them into consideration
Games looked good, console design itself though not so much (placement of the disc drive appears to have been an afterthought). The Ratchet & Clank teleporting scenes were very impressive, great way to showcase the new SSD and I/O tech.
Moving this from Career & Education to 3D Art Showcase & Critiques, where portfolio feedback belongs. If you have questions about how to get into games, manage your career, etc. then Career & Education makes sense. But for art crits, this section is better.
There is a new subscription now You can also get one month only for 100$ (for testing basically), or 60$ per month for a year. Here is a good showcase of the volume builder as people seem to care about that: https://youtu.be/coLAWYJ1Jjc?t=380
If you're looking to highlight the graphics of a particular model or scene, I would probably stick to Unreal. As much as I enjoy Unity, Unreal is better optimized for handling high-end graphics, and showcasing game art. Unity's strengths are in flexibility and rapid prototyping.
Just a quick update. I think the head adds something to the building. I dug up a really old character I had done and just made a quick bust. I'm not a character artist so I'm mot going to really showcase it. but it's in there.
I've continued adding more geometry and detail, mainly to the top of the hull, legs, arms, weapon as well as a socket joint which showcases more freedom in the mechs arm movement. Next I will be finishing off the leg, and moving onto the hull and turrets :)
Its really not bad from a techinical point at all, your texturing is a little clean, but yet dirty on some. I would REALLY suggest just making a whole environment from scratch. Make 3 solid environments that showcase your skills.
Thanks for sharing. I moved your thread from General Discussion to 3D Art Showcase & Critiques. Also I fixed your Youtube embed (all you need to do is paste the URL directly into your post, not use the Link button).
Working on something new. I have a really solid picture in my head of how everything will look in it's final stages. So for now I am creating the modular pieces and slotting them together like this screenshot for compositional reasons/showcase of progress.
