Fantastic, thank you for the help and answers! The info about needing to clone the cards and flip them is great in particular, I had no idea that was standard since most environment assets I've made in the past haven't been intended for in-engine use. Will be great information when I work on other assets like grass etc… -

I would say find time to put in your 10,000 hours. I have had diversions, sidetracks, etc in life from where I want to go (not just my career in video game art). At the time I didn't understand why I was doing it. But always I can look back and go 'ah I needed to take more time to level up my skills' or 'I'm so grateful… -

I wish our highschool actually had vector math. We touched on it but nothing too deep which makes me sad though doing the FXPHD course and its awesome. Khanacademy is awesome too :) Also agree with Neox. Ever since I started learning shaders I would rather not have someone do it and tell me this is how you do it etc etc.… -

I have epilepsy, so I do 'do' anti-seizure drugs. If I didn't the amount of time I spend in front of the screen would definately have me flipping out left, right and centre. You might have to try and look a bit to find some part of drawing your 2d art you enjoy. I'd suggest try taking a life drawing course at a local community college, or see if there's weekly/monthly life drawing sessions around where you live. Try different mediums, charcoal, pencils, pen, actual art markers, quick water… -
