Hey Ben, we've got years of experience with amazing looking enviro 3D work and how to get it done on an indie budget so I'd be thrilled to chat with you a bit more about this.
Btw... This "uncanny vally" idea seems to apply to enviroments too. When looking at these crysis videos I keep thinking... wow great stuff, but yet so pale compared to the real thing
*saves to desktop* :) really cool stuff man, painted textures look really cool, the enviro looks great as well... especially love all his different weapons. Great work man ^^
not an enviro guy so much, but i feel like for more of a pirate thing instead of general store, tavern and there isnt enough broken stuff, or dirt yet. just some ideas. -Woog
Not an enviro artist, but man lovely stuff. Really great! If i was to offer feedback, i'd like to see some work with less colourized lighting though, ontop of the strong work you have here.
Indeed there are many enviroments fans here, and i might add that modularity is kind of a hot topic so if you happen to know some tricks on that go for it.Oh, you could have made a poll :) .
Hey Guys! LOOK I FINISHED IT!! :D Here's a comped shot after rendering out images from marmoset and here is the quick texture comp too :) ONTO AN FULL ENVIRO!!! YAYYYYY lol
If you're really talented and it's a tiny operation, then I could see it happening. I'd expect it to be the sort of situation where you're the only enviro artist, at least at first. But whatever, go to the meeting! Have fun!
Are you using Texture Maker? Parts of those textures are looking very familiar. Hey, the last guy I saw doing a Metroid Prime enviroment got a job there, so go Retro-style!
i disliked the cinematography quite a bit. I hated the enviro even more. Wtf, lets all run around these cement walls in the middle of nowhere because its so visually interesting and believable...
