You can use depth along with camera clipping to get that effect (anything beyond a certain white point is clipped, traced and calls a fill material). Very clean if done right and you can use your modular bits in a lot of ways. Easy way with no programmer support/skill = build it that way. -

Hi there, well some time ago i bought a great video tutorial on www.3dmotive.com about assets and modular buildings that was really good. Mabe it helps you too. Thay give some sort of enfasis on UDK but hey, assets are assets and you`ll problably will found some good results after. -

Guys thats just incredible, but i am curious. Did you build mos eisley as a modular environment or is every house seen there a unique prop? Also the damage on the walls, like on the picture. Are these decals or in the texture of the prop? Keep up the good work and maybe find a character artist to place a storm trooper here… -

I know I'm echoing what was said earlier, but trimming your scene down is probably the right move. Focus on making a really killer outdoor area. Also, thinking about your scene as a modular building kit will save you a lot time and let you focus more on creating quality assets. -

Derelict Riverboat
Wanted to try my hand at another large, modular set-piece sort of thing - and something that would feel at home in a swampy setting.
