Just stumbled over this: http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&limit=500&offset=0&redirs=0&profile=default&search=Medieval+Sword+&uselang=de Tons of hi res images (around 5x4k in size) of different kinds of swords.
It might be unnecessary in UDK but it might be worth knowing that your specular values should not be higher than 1.0 (in your case the values are 0.0-5.0). Saturate it multiplied specular map before outputting it. I don't think this is related to your green dirt but still.
Yeah, it's an awesome game. I was really digging it until I got to the big sand monster in the pit - killed me 500 times and I gave up. Unless I get some cheats I doubt I'll get back to it..too rough.
Looking at Newegg, it seems that the 8800gt is no longer around. It also looks like the motherboard I have tops out at 4gigs of memory. I read a glowing review of a gtx 550 somewhere. Any thoughts on that vs a gts model that would be 30 bucks cheaper?
I have paid up to $45 for boolean modeling scripts. MOP Boolean has been the most expensive for me in recent memory. I balk at that $500 plugin for Maya that does high poly modeling. I feel they are incredibly necessary for triple A work.
i spent a bit more than 500$ for Zbrush many years ago. Best piece of software i ever bought! totally worth it! :) in my experience mudbox isnt as great to sculpt(its nice for texturing tho) . sculptris i have no idea
Was an 18 year old unemployed bum, playing WAY too much Quakeworld TeamFortress. Wouldn't discover 3d for another year, although I had always been interested in computer art since Deluxe Paint on my Amiga 500 back in the day.
Ok, how about this. This is what I'm thinking of doing. 3Ds Max ($500 Leased)+MODO+Mudbox(2)+Photoshop or I could replace Photoshop with SAI, and combine that with using GIMP but I don't know if that would be better or just as good as using photoshop....
I already picked up a 500 gb drive to try to boot XP. I also have another back up USB drive and I just bought 50 DVDR's for another form of backup. My next form of backup is a laptop:). B
IMO for it to sell well it'll need to be animated with the branch part of that animation. The camera is fairly heavy and that branch should wobble with each jerk of rotation from the camera. Consider the current movement a "proof-of-concept" created with Kismet. EDIT: 500 replies, holy shit.
