Hmmm... Yeah, I can see where it'd be hard to read. As far as backgrounds, I actually prefer the flat non-fancy background - doesn't draw attention away from the model that way Texture w/height and normal maps Tiles seamlessly
The gameplay looks in a word, shit. Running around on a sphere - YAY! The lighting/shaders/w/e did look good but that doesn't make a game, see doom3. I really don't see how this will utilise the revolution controller, either.
You may w ant to think about turning off Screen Space Ambient occlusion, and just bake your AO directly into the light maps with beast. IF you check out the bottoms of your pillars in the textured screenshot there is a gross SSAO rim around them.
Here's some more progress so far. It's coming along smoothly though I wish I could work faster ;w; Worked on adjusting design as well as detailing in the more neglected areas. I also began the block in phase of the gun!
An update on the character. Still a ways to go but working away when time allows :) Had to choose color scheme myself as concept is B&W only. May experiment with other colors later when finished. Thinking the head may be slightly smaller in the concept, but it could be a perspective thing...
The odd thing previously w\as that to export to maya I had to export at 100 time sthe size, now I have to export at a scale of 1 They keep on messing around with stuff :o )
This game R A W K S! I've found my niche as medic. What a blast. I need a new vid card though...maybe a 6800GT eh? I luv the squad thing and the VOIP is cool, too. More to come.
