Do you dynamesh it together? You could just copy all tools before merging them, merge one set of copies and then project the polypaint from the original pieces after you've made your merged subtool.
How did you make your diffuse seamless? Did you go back to zbrush to polypaint? Nice sculpts. Did you start this thing from scratch in zbrush or bring in a basemesh? The small "shelfing" details are amazing.
Great polypaint. I'm new to it. Wonder if you have any tips and tricks to share. im preparing my demo reel, so it helps if i could spend less time experimenting and more on doing the actual work.
But what about the file size ? An highpoly with enough vertices to have a good polypaint is way too heavy to upload, and they have a rather small size limit ( 64mb or 1 millions polys ). So they need a texture on a decimated mesh.
personaly i am realy glad by the results so far, its been sometime since i spent atleast 30 hours on a model, btw its not yet complete gonna polypaint next :) hope u like it
If by that you mean "Can avoid doing a good job on the UV unwrap and layout?", then the answer is still yes, you should care, at least for your final model. If it's the high poly sculpt, then no, UVs don't matter on that model for polypaint.
Hi guys, I think I have pretty much finished it. I haven't learnt how to polypaint yet in Zbrush, so for now it is just a standard green-ish colour... Any feedback would be great :) thanks!
And finally, after a lot of work, I can call it done for now! Here is some renders done in Maya, with Arnold. Hope you like it guys! Also I did a polypaint render inside Zbrush (but I don't like it to much):
That's something to maybe contact Pixologic about, or look into your hardware. You should be able to export objects that have millions of points (it may result in OBJs that are >1GB, but still). Perhaps disable any polypaint and polygroups to see if it helps the export process.
Awesome work here! Was curious, what matcap are you using while working with this piece? It works really well with your polypaint! I have to agree with Di$array about the cape, it's very clean at the moment and could use some attention.
