Not currently, editing multiple object's properties is on our todo list though. It will likely be a lot faster for you to merge the hair into one object and re-export rather than toggle back face culling for 250 objects.
I think the problem is caused by white background in normal map, probably caused by alpha. Those white stripes on dilated edges give those shading problems, 127 127 255 color background may fix this.
True Spudnik, I notice I imported the textures in 1024, I need to resize them to 256 and see if a smart sharpen filter could help. Also the normal maps are not showing too much of the details at all.
Dude I am SOOO ignorant of these terms. What do you mean by "256 PPM"? Also are you suggesting that for the pillars that the top and bottom bases of the pillar should be 1024x and the middle tier of the pillar should 256x?
WOW!!! that is amazing! i love it! can you please post your textur flats, because i think it's absolutely amazing how much detail you pulled of with just a 256^2 texture! truly amazing!
for the psu go with corsair or pc power&cooling. It might be tempting to get a 1000w noname psu but most computers only draw like 250-300 or so. its the efficiency & quality of the power being served that counts
[ QUOTE ] Yes, watching movies on a 192 x 256 screen sounds like a great idea. </sarcasm> [/ QUOTE ] Reminds me of a short clip of David Lynch commenting on the iPhone: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wKiIroiCvZ0
Even if you were to make 1 long triangle strip, you'd still only have 254 triangles. Doesn't sound like a feasible amount of polygons for a game. (except maybe Battlezone but that doesn't need normalmaps)
Ohh, and $250 might not look like much...until you realize that Nintendo will rape you for those extra 3 wiimotes and nunchucks so that your friends can play too. $40 for the wiimote, and $20 for the nunchuck.
ya i know it is possible to get it to match up since i did work on some hats way back when tf2 did the polycount update, but i got no clue what i did to make it work. your using 2.57 and http://code.google.com/p/blender-smd/ right?
