I had a boss once that was part of the smoker group. He would walk through and round up all the smokers for a 3-5min break about ever hour. putting them at the bottom of the call que and pushed the rest of us up. 2 techs started smoking again just to get extra breaks and schmooze his ass off when a position opened up. The…
N30: Glad I could make your day. NeonLeon: I though about descriptions but I didn't have much time to prep the site and honestly the more I go on about my work the more of an idiot I sound. Plus I tend to get too wordy. Rage: I graduated back in April 2003 along with the last group who really seemed to view the school as a…
What I figure is there's some base offset vector for the weapons that is applied *before* the mesh scaling factor is applied. So when the scaling factor "normalizes" the model, the translation vector is normalized along with it. Some of the Epic models have a scale factor of 0.3 or so. I wonder...about how far away from…
Around soon after the time of E3 2003 I spoke with the engine coders who I work with, about the advantage/disadvantages in general regarding Normal-Mapping vs Bump-Mapping (you know the genaral discussion between coder and Artist ..) anyhow Halo2 was mentioned and someone said that it was actually bump-mapping used in…
Why not just model the silhouette you want? I think people are going a bit to far with the make a box, but then use a map to make it look round. Polygons are way cheaper than relief mapping and look better. One of the only games I've seen in a while that made use of the geometry budget on xbox360 was Tomb Raider Legend.…
I went ahead and modifier the HP LP renamer to suit my pipeline a bit better. I usually have the HP named the right way, and the LP in a byproduct of that of a weird random name like cube.001 So I tweaked the op to pull the naming from the HP. Dropping it here in case someone wants it as well. class…
"But again at my first attempt at baking this part, the blue half (symmetry with UVs outside the 0-1 range) got a proper bake for some reason ?! I mean... you begin to make me doubt now, but I'm 99% sure that at my first baking attempy, with the blue half outside the 0-1 range, Marmoset managed to bake something on each…
Hi Texelion! Coming along nicely! Shapewise: Love the first 2 boxes for their authentic shape, the third one looks more of a table/stand then a chest. Materials: The metal looks solid, the only remark there is maybe a little more variation in roughness, but that can be personal choice. As for the wood it looks to flat,…
I think you are running with a great idea making it from cast iron. Could really make it feel unique and heavy, very in line with the theme of the character. If you can nail that cast iron look its going to look fantastic. Looking at ref there seems to be a lot of options in terms of how glossy, rusty, bumpy you want as…
