This is definitely helpful, sort of confirms some of my concerns with my software choice. Unfortunately Zbrush doesn't have a tutorial so I'll have a hard time determining if it's the right software for me, but I'll try to mess with it at work when I can. Will sculptris do this sort of thing?
saw on one site it was confirmed its for a film. but another site said that michael jai white thought he was working on a promo for a game. so who knows. question is.... will they use the original music theme song, or will they just play it during the credits. doesnt really suit the new persona
Can any one of you fine gents lay out what's changed (if at all) in Viewport Canvas? Been real curious about that one. Also, I was told that in Maya2012 they added some kind of Crazybump-like utility built in, and that some of that is in Max2012 as well. Can anyone confirm that?
I'm using both Maya and Max at school and I can confirm that Maya is WAY slower than Max, regarding pretty much everything. That's the 2014 versions btw. Normal map is looking much better! Really awesome to see that you didn't give up! Keep it up :)
""Marmoset Toolbag 2 will run on OSX though.""; Oef thats good news. finally no more bootcamp needed And yes i can confirm it works perfectly on Mac they are just unity shaders so no problems there we finally found some time to test it out in our studio
I would assume yes to both. I don't have a way to simulate that but it ought to be cheaper than something like SSAO. Aside from finding some some specific limits I was looking to confirm that the right way to build art content for VR is to throw a lot of triangles at it.
I think the layers themselves might actually be the problem. I stopped using them when I noticed weird spotting happening as I painted over existing polypaint data that was not part of the active layer. If someone else can confirm: layers don't work properly with polypaint.
It's funny because we had the confirmation at work by the engine guys that it didn't make any performance hit on PC. The only problems showing seem to be the memory allocation on PC and consoles (which I probably cant speak of here). We use commonly non-square textures at work.
